Rita Arlitt
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Arlitt graduated from St. Joseph High School in Yoakum, Texas in 1965. She attended Southwest Texas State College, now Texas State, and graduated in 1969 with a B.S. in Education with specialities in art, math and science. She is married to Robert Arlitt and they have three daughters (all teachers) and five grandchildren. Mrs. Arlitt started with St. Joseph in the early 80's as a science and math teacher and later served as the principal for eight years. She completed her mid-management degree in 1992 from University of Houston-Victoria. In 1996 she became the assistant principal of Yoakum High School and worked their for five years. In 2000, she became the principal of Yoakum Intermediate and served in that position until her retirement in 2006.
Mrs. Arlitt has been involved in education since 1972 as both a teacher and in the administrative capacity. She worked in the public school system up to 1993 and has been with St. Joseph School since then.
